Lady Gaga has returned to number one on the Billboard Artiste 100 chart released on October 20, to become the top musical act in the United States for a third week running. Powering her rise is the soundtrack for the movie, ‘A Star Is Born,’ which she did with Bradley Cooper, who bounds to number 3 on the chart and debuts atop the Billboard 200 with 231,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music. The Artistes 100, which launched in July 2014, measures artiste’s activity across key metrics of music consumption, blending album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction, to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artiste popularity. Gaga, who vaults from number 30 on the Artiste 100, also benefits from her presence on the Billboard Hot 100. The soundtrack’s lead single, ‘Shallow,’ with Cooper, jumps from number 28 to number 5, marking her 15th top 10, and Cooper’s first. In total, five songs from the soundtrack (‘Shallow,’ three by Gaga and one by Cooper) appear on the Hot 100.
